September 22, 2018, outskirts of Boston, Massachusetts
Like any writer, I’ll start an introduction with a googled quote: “Paper is to write things down that we need to remember. Our brains are used to think.”
Leave it to Einstein to make something so obvious seem so philosophical.
Hi all. I’m going to use a pseudonym as I will do the same when I submit my novel in the somewhat distant future. Hopefully, in due time, the name I provide will ring a bell when you see my binding on the bookstore shelf.
A.D. Rochester. Arthur Dantes Rochester.
The initials and the surname are simply characters who have carried out the plots to some of my favorite stories. Characters who have filled my indigo child mind and pushed me to self-admit that I need to put down the people and situations etched in my imagination.
Unfortunately, manifesting the words and actions of great characters onto a Google doc isn’t as easy as most think. Nor does it pay the bills. Yet. So in the meantime, I’m trying to live the new life I began almost three months ago in Boston, or what most New Englanders call “Beantown.”
Here I’ll expand on my thoughts, discrepancies, adventures, my work and whatever I deem necessary to be put down. Typing seems more efficient as writing with a pen leaves an ache in the groove of my thumb and a writer’s callous on my ring finger. But the practice of hand-writing will be of more use on my travels.
Before I continue with incoming notions, evaluations, and reflections, I need to make some things clear:
- I have a college degree, many interests and skills, have an expanded (also filthy) vocabulary, and my sole focus is writing about the real King Arthur (hence, the title of the weblog in case you didn’t know).
- I’m not going to talk about my days before moving here, not because it could reveal anything about me, but rather since it’s irrelevant to why I’m starting over.
- Family, friends, and memories may come up a time or two as I write here but otherwise will remain evasive.
- No one close to me knows about this weblog and I intend to keep it that way for some time.
- If you figure out who I am, good for you. But keep in mind, authors do have frontmen to hide alongside pseudonyms.
- And finally, to be frank, what I type here is solely for my benefit and no one else’s.
Now then. Shall I get started?
I welcome anyone who is willing to read and see what (or who) I offer to speak of.
